Learning to read Armenian
Hello, I am new here and just wanted to ask a question about the Armenian alphabet. I have just started to learn Western Armenian (I don't know if that will make a difference) and I just wanted to ask how to pronounce the letters -աւ like in ըսաւ. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, before you proceed in learning Western Armenian you should know the difference. Not to go too deep into details explaining why we have 2 dialects (Eastern & Western Armenian)of the same language. Well the Western Armenian is spoken by the Armenian diaspora, mainly in North America, Europe and most of the Middle East, whereas the spoken language in the Republic of Armenian is the Eastern Armenia. I myself speak Eastern Armenian; I can understand Western Armenian, though I can’t speak it properly:(
To answer your question: “ա” one reads as [a] & “ւ” as [v]; so together it will be աւ [av].

OK, don’t know what you understood out of what I wrote above. But let me translate as well.
Shat urakh em = I am very happy,
Vor hayeren es sovorum = that you are learning Armenian.
Iharke = sure
Ete harcer linum en = if there are any questions
Karogh es dimel = you can ask them
Now back to what you asked me to translate:
kneres iskapes vor senca stacvum
Kneres = sorry
Iskapes = really
so together probably they meant really sorry, though iskapes had to be in the beginning.
Vor = that
Senca = this way
Stacvum = is happening
Ok, so all together it should read: “ I am really sorry that it happened this way”
