Listen to your heart, the song.
How do you listen to your heart? I can listen to my brain, and my stomach, but how do you listen to your heart?
The song says:

"Listen to your heart, before you tell him goodbye."

Along the same lines, how do you deal with a broken heart? And how do you prevent one from happening ever again?

Oh, fine. Don't ask any easy ones or anything!

How do you listen to your heart?
Along the same lines, how do you deal with a broken heart? And how do you prevent one from happening ever again?

I'm going to answer these in reverse order:

How do you prevent ever getting a broken heart? Simple: divorce the world. Go live in a cave on a mountaintop and spend the rest of your life practicing meditation. Purge your mind of all cares, desires, expectations and conceptions, and you need never again fear any kind of disappointment.

I'm sure you can see why most of us prefer to live with the risk.

How do you deal with a broken heart? I cuss and scream and throw a temper tantrum. I yell at the other person and I tell them how evil and cruel they are and how I hope they suffer exquisite torture for their egotistical selfishness. I run away from life by hiding in my room and reading a good book, or getting lost on the internet chatting with all of you, or vegetating in front of the TV with a good movie. I make a solemn oath that I am absolutely through with the human race and will never trust anybody again.

The next day or so later, I apologize to the person who hurt me for being so offensive when I was angry at them. I reach out to my friends and tell them how badly I need friends right now and how much I appreciate having them.

When I feel like I'm fairly well over it, I make a point to again make myself vulnerable to heartbreak.

How do I listen to my heart? That's the really hard one. I have a lot of trouble listening to my heart because when it's not telling me stuff I really don't want to hear, it's being drowned out by other voices I'd much rather listen to. But the problem is, this is one of those things like fishing and falling in love that we learn only by experience. I can't tell you what you're heart sounds like/feels like, because I've never heard it or felt it. I could tell you stuff about what my heart feels and sounds like, but that wouldn't do you any good, because my heart doesn't know anything about what your heart needs.

The only thing I really know is when I am following my heart, I feel terrified and excited and powerful. The world may think I'm being a lunatic, but I am certain I'm doing the right thing the way Moses was when he walked up to Pharaoh and said, "Your majesty, you need to let my people go." It's like, "I could really care less that you have the power to squash me like a bug. This is the right thing to do here, and you can squash me if you want to, but It's right and I'm doing it, and I really don’t' care if you squash me or not. because I'm having a sublime moment here, so if it's the end of my life, I'll die fulfilled and content with what I lived for.

I don't know. That's really a limited example and the feeling is so infinite. I feel like I could spend the rest of my life talking about this, and I wouldn't even bother because my experience of it is really pretty limited. I'm sure 90% of the world knows more about it than I do.

But anyway, it's a great question, and I love thinking about it and I'm thrilled you asked.

I'd love to know what you would have said if I had asked you instead of you asking me.

Talk to you soon

I've discovered how I personaly deal with a broken heart. I play shooting games, I now have 100% accuracy, 5,000 points on hunting games and +3,000 points in laser tag when all my friends can't pass 300! It really helps releive stress, and mark if you ever need to vent at someone, I'll always listen. Another thing I like to do is retreat into a book. At one point I think I read eight books in one week! And to the culpret, my friends say I am too nice. I will do anything to make sure everyone is happy, it kills me when they aren't. I did a lot for this guy and he never noticed it, even when we were friends, I still do a lot for him, even though we aren't.

Trust, well thats a hard thing.

All my friends wanted to kill him for his reason. Wanna here it?

"Ever since you started learning German this relationship has been falling apart."

*I was learning german two years before I met him.

How does everyone else deal with these problems?

Well, I guess to keep from having a broken heart, I would break all ties with the human race. (simply by keeping to my work and ignoring people.) That way, no one can hurt you ever again.

To listen to your heart, I guess, would be just like meditating. Go to a quiet dark place and concentrate on listening to your feelings.

I don't realy know, so don't take my word for it!

Grüß Gott CC,

Leider, beherrsche ich deine schöne sprache nicht. Aber Lauren estudiere Deutsch.

Please reply to anything we can clarify for you. You can cut and paste any confusing passages in, and we’ll be happy to explain. Also, I’m sure there are also other German speakers around who can give you a good German reading of any of our more alien Americanisms.

Es fröhe Mich sehr mit dir sprechen. Wilkommen zu unsere spielplatz!
