Title:
Two of the modern marvels of the world
Answer:
Il colosseo di Roma e la torre di Pisa

Hints:
1. They are both in Italy of course...
2. The second one is a belltower
3. In the first one used to fight the gladiators

Explanation:
The ''colosseo'' ('colosseum' or 'coliseum') was built in 70 a.D. by the emperor Vespasian; there battled the gladiators and was capable of seating 50.000 spectators. In special occasion it was flooded and there took place even naval battles. The ''torre pendente di Pisa'' ('leaning tower of Pisa') was started in 1173 and finisced 174 years later as the belltower (''campanile'') of Pisa's cathedral. It began sinking when the third floor was been build.
