I believe the main key to master a new language lays in, breaking down the insecureness, that may be in each individual, by creating a casual atmosphere, that way around, I let the student decide, where to meet up, where they feel secure and comfort.
A s relaxed as possible, is the best thing, that way you will feel like challenging yourself, and take the risk of making mistakes, together as a friend, i'll be able to trouble shoot, the problems and solve them. |

If you are reading this, you have already shown the initiative that is required to perfect a second language. English requires the ability to move and flow, to be able to assimilate new words into your vocabulary constantly as this is a language where (usually my younger English speaking students in business classes) new words are made up everyday.
English also requires the tenacity to learn the "rules" that do exist and how certain words can be spelled the same but mean completely different things. At first this can be frustrating but it becomes much easier with practice, and conversation with a native English speaker in perfect practice. That being said, I am NOT a grammar teacher. I know what makes sense and what doesn't and when things sound wrong or look wrong on paper, but being able to explain why is NOT my forte.
We will work on SAT words or other word lists (GRE/vocab expansion lists) that show both proficiency and ability to converse at a high level of written, spoken... |

English: My approach is to teach the four skills (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening) to build student's confidence so that they can communicate at whatever level in English. I use well-tried methods such as emphasis on high-frequenc y words for reading, worksheets I have prepared for practice, and role-plays for gaining confidence in speaking. I have taught students from Beginners to IELTS, and students with particular learning difficulties, such as dyslexia. My approach is also to make the lessons enjoyable, as learning through being comfortable and happy with the teacher I think is most important.
Spanish: Wit h Spanish I can only truthfully offer up to Intermediate level. In Oman I had a class for six months of six total beginner teenage students, who ended up being able to write and perform a rap song in Spanish! My methods are obviously the same as I use with English, and I try to make the classes enjoyable.

On the first day I will ask students what their interests, hobbies and music tastes are so that each lesson can have an element that is of special interest to each specific student either translating a song they like, working on a script from a movie or play scene or translating newspaper articles about issues the student is interested in. |
