Details: Hi. My name is Mary and I am looking for part time work as an ASL interpreter. I do not hold a certificate, however, I am currently a student at my local college and have been studying ASL for 4 years. I have a deaf sister whom I was raised with and much of my ASL was taught to me by her. Though I do not hold a certificate or degree in ASL, I am able to help the deaf community with doctor appointments, DMV appointments and the like. I am not able to interpret at court, PTA meetings or churches, as I am still in the learning process. However, I know enough ASL to to interpret for the doctor's and other small business matters. I can also help students who are currently ASL 1 and 2 students. I am available during the PM hours as well as weekends. |
