Hello, My name is Brianne Howe. I am twnety years old and currently enrolled in my third year of college. I am extremely interested in learning the proper Polish language because my boyfriend of three years is 100% Polish and speaks fluently. We just got back from Poland last week where we had an amazing time exploring the country, however, it was very difficult for me to communicate with his friends and family because of the language barrier. I would love to return to poland next summer with him and have a knowledge of the language and culture. It would make the experience for both of us better. I have never spoken Polish before, although I picked up some words while I was over there. I definatly need help and improvement in all aspects of the language and am willing to dedicate as much time as necessary. I will be starting classes the end of august and will attend on tuesays and thursdays, so whatever availability you may have would be great. Thank you in advance!

I don't know any polish. I would like to learn it becuase I am visiting Poland in May of 2006 to see my foreign exchange student and her family. I want to learn more than just a few key phrases so I need teaching in every aspect of the language. I have college in the fall in Rochester, but I am willing to spend as much time as I can on it. My proficiency is definitely that of a beginner. I know some very basic phrases in Polish, however I am finding that is not enough. My boyfriend is from Poland, as are a majority of our friends and I want to learn the language so that I can participate in the discussions. My weakest area is definitely conversation and pronounciatio n. I would be willing to dedicated at least 5 hours a week to language lessons, if not more. Overall, I am looking for a teacher who can teach me how to learn grammatically correct Polish, not simply conversationa l phrases.

I would really like to learn Polish. My boyfriend is from Poland and we went there last summer for 5 weeks. It was an amazing experience. I love the language and their culture. I would have to say I am a beginner. I learned a little while I was there, but my boyfriend translated for me most of the time. My boyfriend has attempted to teach me, but he can't explain why you say one thing and not another. I want to learn grammar and conversation, but not writing. I will dedicate as much time as I need to learn the language. It is very important to me. I have taken two languages already so I have an idea of what kind of teacher I would like. I like a teacher that can explain why, like why you say this to an older person, and this to a younger person. Also, a teacher who gives you ways to remember things to make it a little easier.

I am a beginner to the Polish language. I only know a few words and expressions, however, many of my new family members speak only Polish and I would like to communicate with them. I also plan on spending some significant time in Poland throughout my life because of my familial connections.
Ideally, I would like to dedicate a lot of time to my studies and I would like to work with a teacher who is patient and willing to teach me a lot.
