"Wo kommst du her?" what does "her" mean?
You must note that herkommen (to come from) is a so called "schwaches" Verb. It will be seperated as shown in the sentence.
herkommen (Inf.)
But you cannot say "Wo herkommst Du". Falsch. Richtig: "Wo kommst Du her"
An example for a strong verb would be, e.g., betreten (to enter).
betreten (inf.)
"Ich betrete das Lokal." (I'm entering the reastaurant)
Wrong, or even meaningless is: Ich tretet das Lokal be. In the latter example it is also not further helpful what "be" means.
