This depends on the context in which the word is used:
Sens 1 Speaking of a circuit breaker, shut off the power (electric), situation where there are power cuts ( because of circuit )/ En parlant d'un disjoncteur, se mettre en position d'interruption du courant [Electricity]= to fuse, to short-circuit
Sens 2 Losing his head, going crazy/ Perdre la tête, devenir fou [slang]= to crack up
