Re:Japanese: Desho, what does it mean
Hi! Desho is used when you guess something. For example, the weather forecast says "Asu wa amega furu desho," meaning (we guess that) it will rain tomorrow. My Japanese dictionary explains that "desho" is the polite form of "darou." When we want to say "need" or "must," we say "...shinakutewaikenai." For example, when we say "I have to (must, need) study English," we say "Eigo wo benkyo shi nakutewaikenai." Also, when we say "I should go," we say "Ikanakutewa ikenai." ganbatte kudasai ne!
