hi folks, I am a Taiwanese wildlife biologist specialized on conserving island avian fauna. I have been living in the states since '94. I've worked on many tropcial islands in Asia and Hawaii. My next destination will be Puerto Rico (in the Carribeaian, I am moving there in May). Chinese (Mandrin, Taiwanese) is my native language (although I am not Chinese ethenic), and I speak pretty fluent English. I really need to polish my Spanish before I go there (I just took spanish I last summer). I am also interested in any other languages. drop me a line if you are interested in picking up some Chinese and share with me your language, or island hopping and wildlife, beaches etc. I don't know how is this going to work, since I am not a gold member. Anyway....

I noticed you said you live in singapore and I know a lot of chinese people that speak a certain dialect of chinese live there. Do you happen to know what diojiu is? Sometimes spelled teochew, the people come from the cities Shantow and Chaozhou in China. Thanks and looking forward to your reply.
