I'm glad the group helped you out, especially the other lad who actually resides in Mexico.
I read your profile so if you need Spanish conversations to practice before you move you can e-mail me...and we'll type in spanish and I can help you build a stronger vocabulary.
To the extent to be understood by native spanish speakers for now and then work on being more fluent and comfortable with basic structure.

The reason why I added Spanish to the list is due to the fact that Polish shares latin alphabet like in Spanish. If you know a bit of Spanish or quite fluent you can pick up the pronounciation fairly fast.
I'm very fluent in Spanish and learning Polish myself, so I know that it helps me that way. I hope it does the same for you.
