What does this expression mean?
Hi! Somewhere I read this expression: "monkey see as monkey do" and I would like to know what it means, because I couldn't find the meaning anywhere, but I think that it has some special meaning. Could somebody help me, please?

Re:What does this expression mean?
This has a simple meaning, but is a little complicated to explain. I don't know where it comes from, but here in England we like to pretend on occasion that we have the wisdom of the Chinese and this is probably one such occasion.
It basically means that someone who is not too intelligent will copy what someone else has done, and it usually means that thing is bad.
Hope this helps

Re:What does this expression mean?
This expression refers to someone who is emulating the actions of another. For instance; if a child is watching his father shave, and he has taken a toy to represent his very own shaver, his mother may walk by and say "Monkey see, Monkey do." It's not a very commonly used phrase.
Some more common:
Copycat = someone who emulates the behavior of another Copy = to follow, exactly, someone else's actions or work
Hope this has helped you :)

Re:What does this expression mean?
an expression describing someone who imitates another person's actions, good or bad, simply by having watched them before.
"OMG did you about little Billy from down the street?? apparently he burned a house down...right here in the neighborhood!!"
"yeah, well his older brother used to do the same thing when he was around...monkey see monkey do I guess."
