No experience with Pimsleur but I really don't like Rosetta Stone. I don't think you learn that much and it's so expensive.

Pimsleur is good if you just want to know how to speak the language. It concentrates on speech and does not attempt to teach you how to read the language.

I am using Pimsleur. I'm only on Level I but I think their recall method is great. I do wish they supplied some type of grammar book though. The only booklet that comes with it is to teach you how to pronounce the written words - you try it and the voice on the tape or CD then pronounces it correctly.
