Someone please how can I tell someone in Mandarin that I want to be their friend?
I will like to make some friends in China but need to learn the right phrases. I do not know anyone in China. Thanks

I feel Chinese people don't say "I want to be your friend" directly. Just be friendly, polite and make small talks. Chinese people are very nice to foreigners.

If you really want to translate this sentence, you can say: wo2 xiang3 he2 ni3 jiao1 peng1 you ( I want to make friend with you), or " wo2 neng2 he2 ni3 cheng2 wei2 peng2 you3 ma?" ( Can I be your friend?) Good luck!
