Explanation:	Ranginui (Sky Father) and Papatuanuku (Earth Mother) were once bound together in love. Their children lived squashed between them. There was no light or room to move. Finally their son Tane Mahuta (the god of the forests) forced them apart. The children could now live freely. But Ranginui and Paptuanuku misses each other terribly. They were sad and lonely. The rain and the mist are a sign of their tears.

Instead of "Ranginui and Papatuanuku", in Spanish we say "Padre Cielo y Madre Tierra"

This is good for lower ability Maori speakers. It is great that such a site does exist. The explanation is very useful, however, more promotion of this site must be made. Otherwise this is rawe.
