I am 68 years old and recently retired. I live in Connecticut, a state in the northeastern U.S. I like good books and outdoor activities - hiking, skiing, and bike riding. Although I am not very much into team sports, I am a big fan of Werder Bremen. I studied German in school and visited northern Germany many years ago. I have tried to keep up my German, and I would say that I have an intermediate level of reading and listening. I usually avoid trying to speak German because I can't remember noun genders (der, die, das), and I am self-conscious about my mistakes. I need to get over that!
I would be happy to find some friendly, interesting people for language exchange. I'd like to talk about books, movies, culture, and really any topic of general interest. Probably not politics, as I am trying to get away from that.
I am not interested in text or voice chats. After some initial contact via e-mail, I would like to try videochats through WhatsApp, Skype, or a similar app.

I've recently returned home after living in the Czech Republic and Poland for most of the last 5 years. I want to try and continue working on learning Polish language! My level is not so great, possibly A2/B1. I'm interested in music, analog photography and central European history/ cinema/ literature.

I love to read and write. I am a dork at heart, and I'm perfectly fine with that. :)
I'm trying to find pen pals who will help me learn their native language. I prefer snail mail because it seems more personal to me.

My family and I are moving to Yokosuka next summer. We are interested in learning the Japanese language and culture. We are more than willing to do the same for our Japanese counterpart.

Well, I'm kind of studying Romanian on my own but I take Spanish at school. I'm starting to know quite a bit of Spanish but I'm not considering myself to be fluent in it yet. One of the reasons why I want to learn Romanian, is because I think it would be cool to know and I take gymnastics and I heard that there's good gymnastics up there. So yeah I speak English.
