My teaching approach is based on the Celta Cambridge language diploma. I start with topic based teaching, using orignal material as text or a text from a teaching manual. We look at vocabulary together, we practice both through speaking and writing and check for pronunciation and understanding . I'm not sure my teaching is unique, Cambridge teaching system works too well to what to change it, but I am a happy enthusiastic person and I bring this and my arts background and my creativity to the lessons. My students often laugh in my lessons...som etimes students think I am quite mad but then they comment on how much they have learnt without always being aware of it at the time. I think I make a happy balance between intense hard work and moments of light relief. I hope that students are inspired to continue their study away from the classroom in their own areas of interest but in English. |
