Hi, I'm marrying into a Russian family and want to be able to speak it well enough to join in. On my own I have learned the alphabet and some basic verb conjugations and nouns, but have been stuck at this point for quite a while, so would call myself a beginner. I work near Mississauaga and Georgetown and would prefer to meet someone in one of those two areas after work once a week. I would like a tutor speaks both Russian and English very well, so nothing gets lost in the translation.

I am interested in learning other languages for travelling and possibly working abroad.
My native tongue is English but grew up in a household where Slovak and Ukranian were spoken by my parents. I am able to understand many slavic languages when they are spoken but am hesitant to speak because my grammar is weak. Thinking and translating from english to slovak is a problem for me.
I would like to spend a minimum of 3 hrs. per week of instruction, possibly more.
