I would currently consider myself to be a beginner in the arabic language. I have some basic understandign of the language and the ability to speak and understand some basic words and phrases. I wish to learn the language because my father's side of the family is from the midle east and being able to converse with them in their language would be very meaningful. I would be willing to dedicate up to a couple of hours a week to these lessons as I would hope to be proficient enough to converse with my family in a year or so. I don't have to be fluent by that point, of course, but being able to hold a reasonable conversation would be nice.

Hello, I am looking to learn to speak fluent Arabic. I am also interested in learning some Arabic writing, although the spoken language is my main priority. I am hoping to do this in order to better communicate with my boyfriend who is orignally from Palestine. I am a beginner with no experience. I would like to take private lessons a couple of hours per week, depending on availabilty and pricing, one or two evenings per week. I am willing to put in the time and effort required to learn. I am a beginner with absolutly no experience in arabic. Therefore I need help in all possible areas dealing with arabic.
I wish to learn arabic for many reasons but the most pressing reason is because I want to be able to read the Qur'an in the language it was written. I also would like to visit arabic speaking countries in the distant future.
We ekend classes would be best for my schedual. As to the matter of how much time per class, I am fine with any amount of time.
I would like to be in a class with a group of people, as opposed to private lessons. The ideal teacher ought to be patient and thorough with the content taught.
