I would like to learn Latvian as my dad's side of the family is from there and all speak it fluently. I grew up going to a Latvian camp so have been exposed to it for most of my life. I can understand some but I want to be able to learn it for conversation. I would like to dedicate as much time as I can to learn (a couple of sessions a week).

I can speak Russian at the level of a nine-year-old , basically. That's when I stopped going to a Russian school, and moved to Canada. I don't want to forget my native language, and would like to improve it. I need to improve my grammar in Russian, as well as conversation, and vocabulary.
I also want to learn Latvian. I was born in Latvia, and lived there until I moved to Canada, and I used to speak it fairly well. But once I moved here, I forgot it entirely. I can still read it, but can't understand anything. I want to learn Latvian, so that when I finally get to go back to visit, I can feel at home, and not like a tourist.
I want to learn the languages online, and I have free time from Tuesday to Thursday, after five thirty, until six thirdy, sometimes seven.
I would love it if the teacher had a sense of humour, and explained the lesson well.

I am an absolute beginner.
I' m learning it because my girlfriend is Latvian and I would like to be able to communicate when we spend time there. I have been there a number of times--it is a lovely place and my visits would be enhanced by my being able to speak and understand the language.
I would like to dedicate half an hour a day to practice and I would consider having class once or twice per week.
