I am just a beginner trying to learn the japanese language for a trip to Japan in the summer. I am wanting to learn grammar and conversation. I am willing to spend about 2-3 hours every day. I want these qualities in my teacher: dependable, easy to get a hold of, and ready to explain anything.

I have always been interested in the Japanese language and culture, I love the diverstity of the language and the people. Currently I have no experience with the Japanese language, but I have the want and the ability to learn.
I wish to learn this foreign language so I can speak with friends that I have made in their native language as well as having the ability to watch foreign films without the subtitling.
I wish to put as much time into this as possible, or as much time as my teacher feels that I will need to put into learning what needs to be completed at any given time in the lesson(s).
I would like my teacher to be confident about what he/she is teaching me. I would also like my teacher to be able to keep my attention at all times and help me want to do well and not just push me through something without first making sure I am grasping the concept. Learning a foreign language can be hard and i want this to be a great experience for us both.

I have begun my study using Pimsleur's CDs and I am a beginner. I am learning the language because I have Japanese friends and plan to visit the country someday soon. Also, if I can become sufficiently familiar with the language, it might be an asset in my law practice.

My proficiency level in Japanese on a scale of 1 to 10 is a 1. I want to learn the Japanese language in order to get a career over in Japan, particularly dealing with computers or tuning cars. I can spend as much time as needed to learn the language. Qualities I am looking in a teacher include; being nice, not cramming all the information in at one time, and basically just being an overall good teacher.
