I am a beginner with almost zero experience in Japanese. I want to learn Japanese because I have a great interest in Japanese language and culture, but have not been able to get far on my own. I hope to visit Japan in the future, and it would be better if I knew some of the language. I am a serious student, and already take French in my high school. I am really very flexible about time. I studied Japanese for 5 years in college but have not used it since and forgot everything. I plan to take the Japanese proficiency test a year or two from now and go to Japan as an English language teacher or find some other job there. I need a fairly unique approach because of my past experience with Japanese. I am also a professional conference interpreter and learn foreign languages easily, so I will be doing most of the work myself. I am looking for a tutor for one or two times a week for an extended period of time. I would like to concentrate on the modern language: movies, news, magazines, etc. Because my goal is to find a job in Japan, I need to know both the spoken language and Kanji.

I am writing to you to express my desire to learn the japanese language. Although i recognize and know a substantial amount of Japan's culture, i am held back because of my ill knowlege of the Japanese language. My Proficiency level at this time is at its beginning stage, however my goal is to eventually attend Le Cordon Bleu in Tokyo, Japan to study Culinary Arts. I will need to learn all aspects of the Japanese language, which would include grammar, coversation, and also the history. I would be able to dedicate a great amount of time to the language lessons. I am a very fast learner, as i pick up Japanese songs and words easily. I would like to study under a native Japanese teacher, although it is not essential, who takes a great deal of time with his/her students. This will allow me to absorb in detail the Japanese Language and culture. As of now I am 15 years of age, and within the next four years i will be off to Japan. ^_^

I am a parent and volunteer within our school district, and I have been asked to find a Japanese teacher to teach beginning level Japanese to a class of about 15 (fifteen) 6-8 grade students in a public middle school class room. This is a zero period class offered through the Recreation Department (and is not part of the school's core curriculum). The parents pay a fee for the class. The class meets for 50 minutes 5 days per week (Monday - Friday, beginning in late August or early September), The class begins each day at about 7:30 AM and ends at about 8:20 AM. Salary is negotiable. A course curriculum has been established and is available for the hired teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to expand a growing Japanese program!
