Hi. I am Priya Kumar from United States.I work for a government agency and require a working proficiency in foreign langauage for advancement in my career. i am interested in acquiring a working proficiency level in nepali language. My focus is mainly on speaking and reading.I can dedicate upto 3 hours a day on daily basis for about 12 months. I want a teacher who can help me achieve my target. I have to appear for a proficiency test at the end of the year and achieve a proficiency certification . My test will basically comprise of speaking ( on current events, agreeing/disa greeing to issues) and some reading test. This is important!

More for my own interest then anything. But also to further my career. I would consider myself a beginner. I can read and write Kana. Know meanings and stroke order for about 600 or so Kanji, but not all the readings for them yet. I can make simple sentences, working on more complex ones.

I am a graduate student in music at the University of Texas at Austin. I am a beginner level student wanting to learn Mandarin because of my heritage. I am of Chinese descent (father born in Mainland), but I was never taught Mandarin. My goal is to be fluent and to be able to raise my children to be bilingual. I went to Beijing this summer and studied at the Beijing Language and Culture University in their 4 week intensive course. I would like to reinforce and continue on with my knowledge from this summer. I have been continuing study using Rosetta Stone and am very dedicated to learning the language. I had hoped to have class once a week and tutoring once a week, but cannot find a class that fits my schedule. I prefer a teacher that is very thorough and open to questions from the student, as well as very interested in my personal goals. Strict is also welcomed!
