I'm a complete beginner, and am wanting to learn because my boyfriend is Indian, and I need to know Gujarati as part of adopting his culture. It's important to him, and basically a prerequisite to marriage, so I'm serious about learning.
Ideally, I'd like to become proficient in speaking, reading, and writing Gujarati, but I'd be happy to be able to hold a conversation with someone and not sound silly.
My Gujarati teacher can be anyone who speaks it fluently, I have no other preferences. As for how much time I can devote to this, it would depend on the tutor's schedule of course, but I'd like to spend at least a few hours per week with a tutor, as well as practicing on my own.
I'm open to learning online or in person.

Dear Sir/Madam,
M y son and I will be living in Viterbo for 4 months starting the middle of Jan. 2005. We are are both adults. We would like to study the Italian language. We would be beginners.
W e are presently in Barcelona, Spain and are studing Spanish. Each of us is in a class for 4 hrs. a day 5 days a week for 4 weeks.
To start, we would like 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 4 weeks. However we are adapatable.

I remember my grandparents speaking Norwegian when I was a child ... espcially when they didn't want us to understand what they were saying! They are gone now and the entire family speaks English exclusively. To me, it is a shame to have lost that part of our heritage. I always try to learn something new and I view learning a bit of conversationa l Norwegian as a challenge worthy of undertaking.
