I have recently started working with a Japanese company and am only the second American to be hired into the office. Although they don't require us to learn Japanese, I feel it would benefit our working environment if I were to be conversationa lly versed, at the very least, in Japanese. The other 10 people in the office are recently moved here from Japan and I would like to better understand what they are saying, where they are coming from, and, if possible, more about their culture. I am still in college, although I am finishing my degree online thru Indiana Wesleyan University and should be graduated and beginning to work towards my Master's in a little over a year. My name is Joshua Andrews. I am a beginner in Japanese. I have been learning from a japanes coursebook and cd's so you can hear what the words sound like. I would much rather have a real live person to teach me. I plan to open my own anime shop in the next five years and also plan to visit Japan. I guess that would fall under career advancement. I am just a beginner so i need improvement in everything. I would like to dedicate a few hour a week to learning Japanese, but i work during the day so night is much better for me or on the weekends. I am looking for a teacher that enjoys teaching and makes the lessons interestin and fun so learning is more natural.
