I am a beginner. I've studied a little bit myself and have always wanted to speak French. I'm interested in conversationa l French only, not written form. I don't want to forget the little i've already learned, but i have no one with whom to 'practice' or advance any further. I am a native English speaker who studied Polish for 2 years: 1 year at Harvard University with Prof. Anna Baranczak, and 1 year in Krakow, Poland with Stanislaw Medak at the Institut Polonijny of UJ. I am now living and working in the US, and would like to continue studying Polish so that some day I can return to Poland to pursue graduate studies or conduct research, or simply to live and work.
I would like to spend about 3hrs/week studying Polish, but this will depend on the cost of lessons.
I am seeking a teacher who is not only trained to teach Polish as a foreign language, but who is also knowledgeable of, and interested in, Polish literature and history, as I would eventually like to read Polish tests in these areas.

I would like to learn Mandarin Chinese. I am an absolute beginner. I would like to learn for many reasons. I am currently learning kung fu, I enjoy playing Go (Wei Chi) and I think learning Mandarin would be interesting. I am mostly interested in learning to converse, but I would like to learn reading and writing, too. I feel grammer is very important in speaking and writing.
I would like a teacher that is easy-going and knowledgable. Two or three lessons per week would be fine. Homework every night would not be a problem.

I just started to learn Hungarian language. In a few months,I will be traveling in Hungary and would like to pick up the langauge prior to travel. I would like to spend at least 4 hours a weekn on lessons in person.
