I want to learn some Egyptian Arabic before going to Aswan for the sixth time this coming winter. At the moment I know none. I am a language teacher myself (of German and French) which may or may not be helpful! I should like to be able to conduct simple conversations , and cope with common social situations - but I think that I will flounder unless I have an understanding of the basic grammar : I am not much good at parroting. I am happy to give five or six hours a week to this.

I am learning my foreign language as my mother is Croatian and therefore i have family and friends living in Croatia. I want to be able to communicate more when i go over visiting and be able to travel independently , i am a beginner but know a few phrases.
