I am a beginner and I want to learn portuguese because I'm visiting my friend in Brazil in July 2007 and I would like to be able to communicate with her family and friends that cannot speak english very well.
I would like to focus mostly on the oral aspect of the language as I'll only be conversing with people in Brazil and won't really need an in depth lesson on writing/readi ng comprehension .
I have a flexible schedule and would like to gain as much knowledge as possible in the next 6 months.

I really want to learn Brazilian Portuguese because I will do an internship in brazil starting in may 2007. I am speaking french and spanish. I'm really motivated to learn Portuguese and I'm interrested on grammar but my main goal is conversation to be able to understand pople and to be understood :). I'm ready (with a big pleasure) to put a lot of work and hours into that.

To Whom it May Concern;
I am looking to learn intermediate to advanced Brazilian Portuguese. My boyfriend is Brazilian and we are planning on living in his country for one year. I can dedicate as much as 2 days a week in the evenings or on weekends. I am pretty flexible. I speak both French and English with French being my first language. I have some knowledge of the language but I still stand at the beginner level.

My primary language is English, however both of my parents are portuguese (acores). I think I'm probably at a begginer level, I really suck at it. I would like to be able to speak with relatives and understand them.1-2 lessons a week would probably work for me at first, while I decide if this is something i can actually do. I'd like to learn portuguese but i'm not crazy about the dialect of the islands? However I'm willing to learn either.
