I would like to learn catalan for pleasure. I speak, read and write Spanish fluently. I speak and read Portuguese. I have a limited knowledge of French. I would be a beginner in Catalan. I desire to participate in a small class 3-4 hours per day for 5 days. Specific dates are Nov.14-18. My wife at the same time would like to participate in and intensive Spanish course of 4 hours per day. We prefer to stay in a home with a family. Thank you for your suggestions.

I am a professional in the aviation industry, and live by myself in Naples, FL. A week ago, I broke a cuboid bone in my right foot, and looks like for the next two months I will have some extra hours, which I want to expend in learning wihich I consider my real mother language, Catalan...
I will consider lerning through the internet, but I will prefer a live teacher if it is feasible...

I would like to learn Catalan, because I travel to Catalunya twice a year, and I have many Catalan friends. I speak Spanish fluently and I love Spain. I know a few basic phrases in Catalan but I would love to learn more.
I need practice in almost every dimension of Catalan. However, knowing Latin and Spanish fluently really are a great help - I have almost no problem reading, but words that are more Catalan and Francophone give me some difficulty, as they are not cognates with what I know already.
I would dedicate at least a half hour a day to studying Catalan if I had a tutor.
I am looking for a teacher who is patient, social, and flexible - granted that I am going to try my best to be the same. :) I would like to be able to have fluent conversation in Catalan someday, so that whenever I return to Catalunya I will be able to speak more and more with my friends and not feel like an outsider when they default to that language.
