I would like to learn a foreign language to further my knowledge and to help with future career opportunities . I actually haven't started yet. I learned spanish in high school but haven't had much other chance since then. I want to learn arabic, portuguese, german, and mandarin. I know that it sounds like a lot but it's something I really want to do. I will dedicate a lot to my studies. I am a very passionate person and a quick learner. I'm going to Japan in the summer of 2012 for a study abroad program, and I have to be able to be somewhat proficient in the language (both speaking and writing). I know literally only a few words, so I need major help. Right now, college and working is a major part of my life, so I can meet about every two weeks until about the end of the Fall 2011 semester. After that, I can switch to every week.

I would like to learn to speak Italian fluently so that I may communicate with my relatives in Italy and also to be able to travel comfortably in Italy. I have had a few months of lessons recently but my teacher had to go back to Italy. I would consider myself a beginner with a nack for picking up foreign languages. I had 5 years of high school and college spanish, one semester of Italian in college, and one semester of Latin in college as well. It has been quite a while since HS and College but I do remember a lot of vocabulary still. I need to improve on being comfortable with what I already know to start using it in conversation with someone. I was taking private lessons three times a week at my home. I am looking for a Italian teacher that can speak the language fluently in the traditional dilect. I would like to know that they have taught others with sucess and will be able to stick around until I felt comfortable speaking fluently.
