I am true beginner. I plan to study abroad in the Spring 2008 semester in Brno. While my classes will be in English, I would still like to have some sort of base to learn Czech from before I arrive. I will be in Miami all summer and would like to start as soon as possible. I would be available for a couple hours a week.

I am 'false beginner' as I have spent some time in Czech Republic and part of my family is Czech. Therefore I can speak and write a little. However, I never learned the basis in grammer, vocabulary, spelling, and conversation in general. I really want to learn with somebody who preferably has teaching experience, so that I can learn the right way. My goal is to become fluent orally and in writing. This is important to me as Czech culture is part of my roots, and I still have family and friends in Prague with whom I want to be able to communicate better.

I am a beginner and i am interested in learning czech so that i can spend time in the czech republic and speak to the natives as well as possibly work in the country in health care at some point. I would consider myself a beginner. I have had contact with the Czech language while spending three consecutive months in the Czech Republic.
I started to take classes at Charles University/Al bertov in Prague, but left when I felt they were not spending enough time on grammar.
I returned to the states with many Czech language books (my favorite ones are from Leda) and have spent time learning on my own.
I would like to find a teacher to help me put everything together and to help me with speaking.
