I currently do not know any Urdu. I would like to learn it because I am marrying into a Pakistani family and would like to be able to have my furture children speak it as well so the culture will be within our family. I'm willing to deticate as much time as will fit into my school schedule. I am looking for a patient, understanding teacher, which I'm sure we all are. Someone who can use interesting analogies to teach, as opposed to a dry straight-thro ugh lesson.

Hello there,
I am looking for a french tutor for myself and possibly my husband. I have two daughters who will be starting in a french emersion school in september 2006 and I would like to brush up on my french conversation skills so I can help them with homework etc.
I have had 7 years of higher level secondary school french (in Ireland) but have not had the opportunity to speak it in 20 years. I would have been almost fluent at that time.
If I thought I could get good classes for my daughters I would also get lessons for them now and in the summer.
I would dedicate two evenings per week to classes and maybe at the weekends for my daughters.
Tutor must be fluent in both English and French. I would begin lessons asap if I could find a good tutor.

I have studied spanish on tape and attended about seven 2 hour spanish courses at a college. I want to spend about once a week on evening's for about two hours of instruction. I would like a class size about 4 to 10 people if possible and will commute to Edmonton.

Being born in Canada, my first language is English. However, being of an indian background, I am relatively well versed in speaking gujurati and have a fairly good understanding of such south asian dialects as hindi, although I cannot speak them. I am part punjabi and therefore constantly find myself at a disadvantage when having to communicate with family and friends. In addition, my future plans involve professional music for which adequate knowledge of the language for poetic use is essential. My understanding of punjabi is limited to a mere few words and i cannot speak it. I am not looking to learn how to write in punjabi, only to be able to carry out a fluent conversation in various scenarios. I am looking for a teacher who is not only comfortable with speaking punjabi, but who is also fluent in English as better communication with myself in English will facilitate and speed up the learning process. I would like to begin lessons as soon as possible, preferabely weekly 1 hour classes. Weekends would work best. I look forward to your response.
