I am interested in learning to converse, read & write Italian after a visit to that country.I am really a beginner although I have done a basic 8 week course in Italian earlier this year. (group)I would prefer private lessons, about an hour a week, but this may need to be flexible, rather than the same time and day each week.I have transport, but would prefer not to have to travel long distances for the lessons.I am prepared to study and do exercises in my spare time, so that the lessons will not be repetitious and that rapid progress can be made.I would like the full attention of my teacher for the hour that I am being taught,so he/she shouldnt be doing another job at the same time.I am a retired professional, and am fluent in 3 other languages.Thi s venture is entirely voluntary and needs to be enjoyable and relaxing for both student and teacher.Prefe rably, I do not want a fixed contract, and as long as I feel Im making good progress and enjoying the lessons(gramm ar, conversation, listening to and discussing Italian dialogue and music)there need not be a time limit.

I want to learn Italian because it has always been a language that I've wanted to be able to speak. My family is Italian, and it has been unfortunate that the language has not been passed down from our parents. I want to be able to keep it in my family and in my life.
I am a fast learner and I learn best in person and through conversation rather than studying through books.. I want to be able to speak and understand it rather than consistently study the rules of the language so in depth.

Im learning italian because of my love of italy and i plan to go there in the near future as an exchange student or with my mum. i have been learning italian dor a while now but as I recently found out the sentences were incomplete to the fluent italian. I need all the improvement i can get in grammar and the basic words like 'the, and, it, it like.' I also have not yet learned how to put a sentence together so ill need help with that.i would like to dedicate as much time as the teacher is willing for I am planning to visit italy at christmas time.the qualities of a teacher that im looking for are presisant, professional and are fluent.

We are raw beginners in Italian and have tried the group class at the ICC and found it too difficult and boring, so we are looking for a private tutor willing to take on 5-6 students in our home once a week for an hour and a half. The class we were taking was 2 and a half hours and we all found it too long. Class time would need to be in the evening and ideally a Thursday night.
We are looking for a teacher who can teach the basics in a manner that the older brain will absorb which means lots of review and reinforcement . Conversation and oral comprehension are the most important as we are planning to travel to Italy in the next year or so. We would like it to be a pleasurable evening not an endurance night.
