I am learning Spanish for my own enjoyment and to be able to travel in Mexico independently .I am somewhere between intermediate and advanced, depending on who is doing the assessment. I am looking for improvement in conversation especially, but of course this is supported by a basis of grammatical ability. I would like a weekly lesson with the understanding that I would work on things in between classes. I am looking for one-on-one interactions with a teacher who will help me to develop conversationa l proficiency.

I have recently become engaged to a Brazilian lady and have intentions of moving to Brazil on a more permanent basis in the future. I am familiar with a lot of vocabulary, but sentence structure, grammar and conversation are out of my grasp at this point, so I would classify myself as a beginner. To start, I'd be willing to put in 3 to 5 hours a week in my studies, as I'm working a lot these days. As for teacher qualities, they must be patient and flexible.

I am a female. would like to learn Mandarin in order to communicate with my Mother's side of the family. I can understand basic Hokkien (which is a dialect of chinese spoken in Malaysia) which is very different from Mandarin. However, I have the ability to hear several tones in the same 'word' and understand them as separate meanings.
I am willing to dedicate 2 hours a week to learning (and several hours of practice / homework)
I would like to do a few trial lessons and then determine a longer-term commitment after a trial period of about 4 weeks. Sunday mornings 10am-Noon at my apartment at the South End of Halifax. (-:
