To Whom it may Concern:
I have been interested in learning the Ukrainian language for many years, but it is only now that I have the time to devote to intensive study. The University of Calgary and Mount Royal do not offer classes in Ukrainian, so I have been studying on my own with my own books. I am looking for a tutor because I need to add the 'conversation al' element to my studies. I don't know anyone in Calgary who speaks Ukrainian.
My goal is to learn to speak, read and write Ukrainian fluently. Right now, I believe I am at an 'early Intermediate' level. My reading skills are quite a bit better than my conversationa l and comprehension skills. (Although my conversationa l skills are almost nil!)
I love Ukrainian folk music ( I play the guitar and the piano); my children have all participated in Ukrainian dancing; I am interested in Ukrainian history and traditional Ukrainian culture but I am also very interested in the Ukraine that is here today. I have been to Ukraine twice and would like to go again (perhaps, to school). In time, I would also like to learn Russian because it is also an important part of modern Ukrainian society. Also, there are may recent Ukrainian immigrants I would like to get to know (as well as the immigrants from the early 1900's). My father is of Ukrainian descent and is now in his 80's. He is almost deaf and it would mean the world to him if I could write him letters in Ukrainian regularly.
I am willing to devote 1-2 hours/day to Ukrainian language study. I would like to meet with a teacher once every 2 weeks if possible for a 1-2 hr lesson. I am looking for a teacher who is passionate about teaching and has a fun, easy-going personality. I am eager to learn, but I want to have fun doing it. I am willing to commit to this for however long it takes to become fluent.

Dear Sir/Madam. I would prefer to work with a female Punjabi teacher.I am interested in learning conversationa lPunjabi. My mother tongue is English. I am interested in learning Punjabi for spiritual reasons and also to converse with my friends most of whom speak Punjabi. I understand a few Punjabi words but most times I feel left out of the conversation. My friends tend to forget that I don't understand what they are saying and will repeat the conversation in English or they tell me that I should have picked up the language by now.I have no natural connection to India but the spiritual path that I have chosen to follow is based in India and I would love to understand and enjoy the Punjabi teachings as much as I understand and love the English teachings. If you are interested in being my educator I would love to hear from you.

As I will be studying Commerce in university, in my opinion learning new languages are a great asset to my future especially Korean. I am a beginner. Hopefully, I can learn conversation skills and write basic korean essays. Since I am graduating this year from high school and I do not have to take summer school anymore,I am thinking probably 1.5 hours and three times a week during the summer. But will continue once a week when school starts. I hope my teacher is fun, easy to learn and understand, and helpful.
