Beginner to Intermediate Cantonese speaker. Was brought up in Hong Kong but lived in a predominantly English-speak ing environment.
I have a good understanding of pronunciation and tones, but a very limited vocabularly. Can respond to basic questions, but struggle with having a full conversation.
Would greatly appreciate lessons to expand my ability to speak Cantonese. I aim to take lessons up to a level that I converse fairly naturally with a Cantonese speaker and improve my Cantonese through practice in real-life scenarios.
Ideally, I'd also like to learn some 'basic medical language' in Cantonese as I am a medical student. Names of body parts, types of discomfort (stomach ache, headache, etc.) and a typical conversation between a patient and doctor would be helpful.
R eason for learning: always wanted to learn my whole life, but never really been given the right opportunity to learn. Would love to be able to converse naturally with family and other Cantonese-spe aking people in Hong Kong.
I'd be willing to commit to lessons once a week, but given my heavy academic schedule this would need to be arranged with the teacher.

I am a beginner i.e. I have only been to finland for short trips and have only begun to learn a small amount using 'teach yourself' books. I wish to move to Finland sometime in the not to distant future to join in some youth work projects I have links with. I want to put time in with the lessons, I am willing to journey for lessons and really have a desire to learn fast. I would like a teacher who is interested in helping me with my communication skills in ways that my vocabulary can be wide and inventive based on conversation and active dialogue.
