I am learning both Hindi and Burmese for interest and career advancement. I am a beginner in both languages and would like to attain a good conversationa l level, and the ability to be able to read newspapers, magazine and eventually, books.
Ideally, I foresee lessons once a week. I have done some self-learning in both languages and can read and write simple texts and articles. I have experience in other Asian languages - Chinese and Japanese and consider myself a fast learner.
The teacher I'm looking for would be one with a good educational background, a sound understanding of their native tongue with experience teaching English-speak ing students. I am looking for someone who can take through the language and introduce the culture, history, and written language.

I currently have basic knowledge of hindi having learnt it to a degree when I was a child however since then I have forgotten alot that was learnt as I did not put into practice what I learned!
I am now looking to take up challenge to not only learn to speak hindi but to do so as proficiently as possible.
I would say fundamentally grammar and pronounciatio n would be key to give particular improvement.
I am looking to team up with a teacher who can show me the path to learning as quick as possible and give guidance for tasks needed in order to do this.
