I speak no Romanian. I used to be fluent in French but my ability to carry on a conversation in French is now limited.
I intend to visit Romania during mid-April and would like to understand basic pronunciation as well as know a few phrases of the language; enough to ask basic questions, understand the menus, etc. and to generally indicate that I am interested in the country.
I would be willing to commit to one (1) tutoring session per week for the months of February and March. I do not expect miracles.

Hi! I am looking for a patient teacher to aid me in learning to speak Romanian. I want to learn this language because my husband is Romanian and my desire is to be able to communicate with his mother. She does not speak English at all. I know a few basic words and phrases, but I would like to start from the beginning. Lessons once or twice a week (depending on your schedule) would be fantastic!

I want to learn the Romanian language fluently, where I am very comfortable speaking to, and understanding Romanian with people from that country. I am a beginner with very little knowledge of this language, but will be traveling there next year. (Summer of 2005) I want to learn all I can before making this trip next year. I know no Romanian. However, I have experience with Romance languages. I speak Spanish more or less fluently and can speak Italian conversationa lly. I am probably going to a linguistics summer school in Cluj this summer, and if I do, I figure I might as well stay on for a couple weeks and learn Romanian. Since the purpose of my staying in Romania would be to learn Romanian, I would like to study extensively. I am looking for a teacher with a structured, yet fresh approach. I would like as much as possible for instruction to be in Romanian.
