I would like to learn Latvian because I am currently living in Latvia, and though it is possible to live and work without much knowledge of the language, I am not happy having so small of an understanding of the world around me. I am beginning to understand some, but am very much so at a 'beginner' level. Conversation and grammar are the two areas that I am interested in working on. I would like to meet in Riga, Latvia one or two times each week for several months, starting as soon as possible. I would like my teacher to be willing to assess my individual ability and growth. I need them to be positive, supportive, and encouraging. I want a teacher who is willing to be flexible, and creative. I value conservative methods of teaching, but learn best when learning is interactive, engaging and even fun. A balance of traditional methods and creativity would be wonderful.

I have a number of years of experience of learning Russian but wish to improve my general level of Russian. I am especially keen to improve my knowledge of Russian grammar.
