My name is Kiran. I am 24 years old and would like to learn the Hindi Language. My parents are from Guyana, I was born in America and we all speak only English so I would like to be more connected with my culture by learning. I am a beginner but have been slightly familiar hearing the language in movies and from hearing friends speak. I am interested in learning conversation Hindi to begin with. I would like to be able to converse with my partner's mother when she comes to visit (she only speaks Hindi/Gujarat i).
I have used the LiveMocha site for a little while, but I know that I do best with person-to-per son learning and practice. I am starting at the beginning. Learning Devangari/wri ting is less important than the actual comprehension and speaking at this point.
I would like to discuss the time with the potential tutor, possibly once a week with assignments given to complete between sessions?
