I feel as though language learning is a constant experience. I learned Spanish, French, German and Italian at a young age. Unfortunately , due to lack of practice, I can only speak Spanish and English fluently today.
I calculated that it takes me aproximately 6-8 months (with much time dedicated to the task) to learn a language fluently. So based upon said calculation-- I'd like help in learning the following languages within the next 10 years: Farsi/Dari/Pa shto/Cantonese /Mandarin/Hebr ew/Korean and Russian.
I'm currently most interested in learning Dari and Pashto for Career purposes. (Followed by Korean- my mother is Korean and she is always nagging me to learn!)
I can currently only afford $30/week on lessons. But will dedicate as much time as possible, as I'm very studious. (perhaps within the next few months I'll be able to afford more--I will update this profile when I can).
Qualities in a teacher: Professionali sm, dedication, cultural and linguistic fluency, the ability to hold social conversation (I find it easier if there's an element of friendliness within the learning process. It also allows for better learning when you can converse in the same manner as you would in the native country of the language being studied).

I have studied Arabic, Modern Standard Arabic, on and off for 5 years focusing on Media Arabic.I have used Al-Kitaab, al-Kitaab al-Assasi, and numerous media Arabic texts. I would like to increase my reading ability, specifically in Media Arabic, as well as developing my speaking skills, focusing on Egyptian or Levantine dialects. I would like to increase my ability to better converse with friends and colleagues and advance my professional goals. My last proficiency test was in August 2011 and I test Advanced Low by the ACTFL scale. I have kept up my reading skills but my conversation ability is in need of assistance. I have exposure to Egyptian, Levantine, and Moroccan dialects but would like to focus on either Egyptian or Levantine.
I would like to dedicate 1-3 hrs a week focusing on speaking to begin. I need a flexible teacher due to my work schedule and commitments. I would prefer a teacher with plenty of exposure to English speaking Arabic learners and knowledge of politics/medi a/economics in the Arab world as well as native fluency in either Egyptian or Levantine dialects with advanced exposure to Modern Standard Arabic.
