I am an adult, beginner level Mandarin student with business and personal reasons for learning Chinese. I have taken several Mandarin classes at Langara and I would like to broaden my exposure to the language through other sources. The time I can spend will be best used with more intensive splanning and learning tools. I am looking for a native Chinese speaking tutor that is willing and able to build upon lessons I have taken and will continue taking. I also have great interest in learning to read and am particularly fascinated with Chinese idioms. An additional benefit will be help with Chinese business and social etiquette.

I am looking for a private tutor that can offer 2-3 lessons per week for 1.5 hours. I am looking for a teacher at approximately 15-20 per hour. I lived in China and other parts of Asia for about 2 years and have decided to finish where I left off with Mandarin. I am rusty but learn very quickly and already have a basic vocabulary. My understanding of Pin Yin and pronunciation is very strong. Please respond with any suggestions you may have.

I would like to learn Mandarin. I am located in Brampton Ontario. i am a part-time student therefore I would need a teacher that can teach during the evenings and weekends. I would be classified as beginners. i want to learn mandarin becuase I will be visiting China for 4 months next year. therefore I want to be able to speak it a little. My level is beginner, but I have some notions and vocabulary because of online self training and previous trip to China (Tianjin)
I'm learning Chinese mostly for personal improvement purpose but also for future business opportunities .
I want to improve both written and spoken Chinese, but the emphasis should be put on oral expression and comprehension since it's something I can't do by myself.
I don't have much free time presently but 2 to 4 hours + homework should be a good plan.
The main qualities I'm looking for in a teacher is her/his attention to detail, knowledge of the language and, of course, that she/he enjoys teaching.
