I would like to learn how to read and write chinese and speak Mandarin fluently. I would consider myself a beginner in Mandarin, however I can speak Cantonese fluently. When I was young, I attended Chinese school for 10 years. I know very basic chinese writing skills.
I would like to learn Mandarin so that I can work in China in the next couple of years. My goal is to gain international work experience and my destination is China.
The areas that I feel I need improvement is conversation.
I would like to dedicate 3 hours per week for language lessons. After each lesson, I expect to be given homework for me to practise writing and learning a conversation in Mandarin. I understand it will take practise to learn a new language which I am willing to put time and effort into.

Good day,
I am almost a complete beginner in Mandarin although I had just started (4 lessons in Putonghua) during my time in Hong Kong in 2006 but I was posted back here. I wish to develop conversationa l skills up to perhaps an intermediate level for business meetings depending upon my progress and competence. I would like to have once or twice weekly one to one lessons in the weekday evenings either at home or at the providers premises supplemented by perhaps online lessons as I still travel with business albeit less frequently. I would be looking to commence in early March. I would prefer my teacher to be fairly flexible as sometimes I have to travel at short notice and I would appreciate a fairly structured programme with regular checks of understanding by review or test.
