I am an intermediate level student.
I have been studying Japanese for the last 2-3 years and have lived in Japan for 2 years. My level is interesting because I have advanced ability in some topical areas, but am missing substantial chunks of information in others. I am in need of listening skills and in need of natural expressions used by Japanese speakers (I do lots of direct translation.) In addition, I would love an overview of all Japanese grammar and especially when to use each tense.
I am learning Japanese because my boyfriend speaks Japanese and I would like to speak to his family. In addition, I would like to know enough to live in Japan comfortably and work a job at the university level (I am an ESL teacher and curriculum designer.)
I am willing to study privately, in person once a week and with a group or online twice a week. I would like intensive lessons now to jump start me for future independent study. I could do 1-2 hours for a private lesson and 1 hour for the other two classes.
I am looking for a teacher that is flexible and that would be able to help me come up with a plan of study. I have struggled with what to study and how for quite some time. It's especially frustrating for a curriculum development specialist. I would also like a teacher who makes me feel comfortable and not stressed out.

Hi!
I trying to learn Japanese. I have basic survival Japanese only and would like to improve.
I am hoping to become good enough to pass Level 3 JLPT soon.
I am looking for a teacher who can make the classes suit me and not just put me though the same old lesson plans. I am most interested in conversation Japanese but will also work on writing/readi ng as well.
I would like to do in person lessons. But i am also happy to do Internet web chat lessons too!
