I am learning foreign languages (Japanese first) to aid in my future career in law enforcement. I am a beginner- which means I can barely say hello correctly. I am willing to dedicate hours to learning Japanese and all other subsequent foreign languages on my list. I am looking for a teacher that was born surrounded by the language they are teaching. Not an American person who went to college and learned it. I feel better learning Japanese from a person who grew up speaking Japanese in their household. I apologize if this is in any way offensive.

Japanese is the one language that has always fascinated me, and the deeper I delved into learning about the country the more I wished to learn the language. Unfortunately the area in which I live has no courses or lessons I can attend and I would prefer learning in a one-on-one/sm all class over Rosetta Stone.
I have started self-study recently using books I have purchased from various stores, as well as a few dictionaries. Still, may grasp of the language is barely anything. Generally speaking my plan was to first learn the written language then move onto the spoken, but if they could be mixed together that would be great as well.
Time -wise, I have work and group sessions almost everyday of the week so evenings would be the best time, and after I graduate in the next two weeks the mornings.
I'm hoping to find a teacher who is fun, and friendly, patient and has no problem with being peppered with questions. Also I have been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, and as such need someone who is willing to put up with my awkward behaviors at times and encourage me.

I want to learn korean and japanese is because I enjoy the culture and the language. I watch most asain dramas and they have interested me greatly. I am a haitian-ameri can, so I learning a language can be difficult but fun. I love my native language but I like to learn more. I, in college now and plan to take a course in italian. I need work in all areas, I only know a few phases and thats from watching the dramas. Im dedicated to learning greatly, but Im also focused on school and would like to stay on schedule. I want someone who can someone who can take the time and show me efficiently how to learn the language, be patience and put lessons to life perspective. These lessons could provide for career advancement, but for now they are for personal advancement.

I am learning Japanese as a personal goal. I have wanted to learn Japanese for as long as I can remember. It is become more of a driving need than I want. I have taken up to Japanese 402 in college and due to scheduling conflicts unable to continue. I would most likely state that I am a beginner in the language. I believe that I need the most inprovement in the areas around smooth conversation. I am willing to dedicate as much time as necessary to become fluent in the language as long as it does not conflict with my Job and financial stability. In a teacher I look for native speaking as well as culturally versed. I look for proficiency and accuracy. A good listener so as to correct my tone accent and cultural ignorance. Stern enough to tell me when I am doing it wrong. Subtle enough to keep progressing my skill.

I am interested in learning Japanese because for one, my mother is full-blooded japanese. So i am half japanese and half caucasain. My mother never had the time to teach me when i was little, Japanese would be helpful to learn in my field i want to go into, and it would help to conversate with my family in Japan. I Spoke a small amount when i was small and would visit my family in Japan, but i have currently lost everything. So i am sitting at begginer level. i work full time and about to graudate high school. so time would be a challenge but i am more than willing to work with my manager. I am looking for a teacher that is excitting. Someone i will enjoy learning the language with. I think it would be a beautiful thing to one day have a conversation with my mother in japanese.
