Hello,
I want to improve my Spanish. I would say that I am a low advanced level learner as I majored in the language in college. My listening has always been my weakest point, and I spent a long time away from the language. I want to learn modern vocabulary and slang and to ask questions about grammar.
I'm looking for about one lesson a week for an hour in the evening. I live in the Wicker Park/Humboldt Park part of Chicago and can travel as long as it's not too far. I am looking for an instructor who can challenge me in all areas of language--I'm not just looking for conversationa l Spanish although I definitely want to improve that as well.

I have never studied Arabic before. I have not yet studied the alphabet, but I intend to begin on that immediately. I plan to dedicate at least 15-20 hours a week to the study. I have considered going abroad even to do an immersion course. But before I make that decision I would like to take some courses in Tulsa. My main goal is to learn to speak Arabic so I can be an asset to business I am in.

I live in Chicago, and Polish is becoming the 3rd most spoken language where I live. I love that what it sounds like and how you write Polish are two entirely different things.
I' m a beginner, but people who were born there tell me I have a knack for the language, for the little I know.
I would like to be able to read, write and of course speak fluently.
If I'm interested in the subject at hand, I can become obsessed with it. This is actually pretty good for how my mind works. On a subject I really enjoy-example music-I can put a LOT of time into a piece and have it from memory in time. I don't mind spending hours on it. Whatever I do know of music, I have it in my head; rarely written down anyplace.
I think Sundays might be nice because Sunday mornings can also be a great time to drive somewhere--no traffic. I'm up at 6 am, and can leave Chicago by 8-830 am.
Ultima tely, I'd like to be able to have enough information to be able to help immigrants learn to speak English, and keep up what I know at the same time.
I'd like to be able to translate things from English to Polish and back.
