Need classes/lesso ns right away! I am a beginner who currently is going over basic vocabulary through online tools. I real am excited about spending a semester aboard in Rome, and would like to really adapt to the Italian way of life. I would like to be able to communicate well with native Italian. I am willing to put forth all my effort in the next three months to really concentrate on learning Italian. I would like to meet at least once a week or more for lessons/week starting as soon as possible.

I have been learning Portugese through tapes and books as well as conversations with people from/in Angola as well as Portugal. I am engaged to an Angolan and wish to become proficient in Portugese not only for the wedding ceremony but to better communicate with his family as well as teach our children. I have a basic understanding of social communication , some vocabulary, and slang terminology. I am having difficulty organizing the learning given a lack of understanding of grammar and desire to directly translate (which almost never works out correctly). I have a lot of time to devote to learning this summer and will have time following a full-time job as of Sept. I am looking for a teacher with an understanding of the differences in grammar between English and Portugese as well as opportunities to communicate with multiple people speaking Portugese outside of the instructional setting (my fiance will not be in Philadelphia to help me practice what I learn).

I am somewhat of a beginner in the language of Vietnamese. My wife is from a town near Saigon (Lai Thieu). We travel there from time to time. I want to become proficient in speaking as well as writing. I would prefer a native teacher that came from the Southern part of Vietnam. I have no previous experience in Mandarin but would love to learn it as it has been a long time goal of mine. The reasons I want to learn it is my appreciation for the art and history of China as well as it being the most widely spoken language in the world after English.
