i am going to live in china for a while and teach english and study some tai chi chuan in august this year. I have been studying mandarin with chinese voice for the last 3 months but am moving upto intermediate level at the beginning of march. i have a live link to beijing every sunday but am going up to 2 hrs a week from beijing in march.I find the basic class a bit slow for me as the other people learning it are way behind . Also written mandarin in english doesnt relate to how it is actually spoken. I have seemed to pick it up quickly but i would like to be as proficient as possible especially when i go to wi yu shan . I am looking for an hour every 2-3 weeks to start with in february which i will increase nearer my date of travel. I normally link on msn with my webcam to speak to friends so i think that would be the easiest option.i find chinese voice are missing sections on pronounciatio n that i can listen for me to write it in a way that i can understand and try to get the tones correct, ie missing sections on mp3 with houche , feiji and mai and mei 3rd tone for example . cheers matthew sanders
