I studied Tamil for one year at a university in the US (University of Pennsylvania) . I have a basic understanding of the grammar rules as well as the Tamil alphabet. My main struggle is with vocabulary and sentence structure.
My husband is from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, so my motivation for learning Tamil is to better communicate with his family, especially the older generation.
My main focus is on conversation proficiency.
I myself have a masters degree in Lingusitcs and TESL. I'm looking for a teacher with similar qualification s, since I have a pretty good cognitive awareness of how language is learned.

I am a mild speaker of tamil, I did a few years of high schooling here, and then left abroad to study. I am a Sindhi, not a tamilian, but need to fine tune it and sound like a local. Possibly even learn how to read and write.
