Hi, I do not have any background on chinese language, but I really want to learn mandarin for business and career advancement purposes.
I am willing to dedicate half day per week to learn chinese. Schedules per week will of course depend on the availability of the class and my availability.
I would like to have a competent and effective teacher who knows how to simplify writing, reading, pronouncing and conversing chinese - mandarin language.

I'm a very fast learner, and I'm told I have an aptitude for languages. I excelled in my Intermediate French class, and I'm starting Advanced French in the Fall. I'm looking to learn both Spanish and Chinese over the summer because 1) I have Spanish-Chine se heritage, 2) I love learning new languages and these are the first two on my list, after French, and 3) everyone in my mom's side of the family, as well as everyone in school, speaks Spanish -- why can't I?

I graduated high school from CKSC. As I graudated, I believe that my grades in chinese were above average. I thought that I was proficient enough until I tried to watch a chinese tv series with my grandmother. Sad to say, it was hard for me to understand the show because of poor interpretatio n of words. I am also unable to read and understand chinese newspapers. I believe that I need a lot of improvement in all aspects of mandarin and fukien (grammar, communication , writing and reading). It is undeniable that mandarin is fast becoming the most widely spoken language around the world and that I need to be fluent with it to become universally competitive. I also think that learning the language could further help me reach out to alot more people especially now that I am aiming to be a good doctor someday. As stated, I wish to have a teacher who has effective techniques to help me solve my language dilemma. I am looking for an approachable private tutor (preferrably female) who could help me 2 hours a week during friday nights or saturday mornings/afte rnoons. I hope that through this site, my dream of being a proficient mandarin speaker would soon be turned into reality. Thank you.
